Patient Dental Issues FAQ

My Crown fell off, what do I do?

Stay calm, this can happen sometimes. First find the crown and go to your local drug store or Walmart. In the oral health care isle, you can find Dentek Temparin Wax Repair kit (retails for roughly $6.00). Refrain from chewing on that side and avoid crunchy (chips, granola, cereal), sticky foods (gum, candy, peanut butter, soft breads) until you see your dentist. Whether you found the crown or not, please call your dentist’s office to get a same day appointment.

I broke my tooth eating something, what do I do?

Stay calm, this can happen sometimes. First, rinse your mouth out, if in pain take an over-the-counter pain reliver. Refrain from chewing on that side, eat soft foods (think baby food) and if sensitive to heat or cold refrain from what bothers you. Please call the office to make a same day appointment.

I got hit or fell and broke my tooth, or my tooth fell out, what do I do?

Stay calm, if you sustained trauma to your head or face (i.e., you were hit or fell and knocked your head/face), it is suggested that you seek medical attention.

My filling fell out or broke?

Stay calm, this can happen. If you are in pain that is not relieved by over-the-counter medication, you may need to seek care at your local urgent care center or Emergency Department. If your pain is controlled, tolerable or not all, you may pick up Dentek Temparin Max Repair Kit (retails for $6.00) at your local pharmacy or Walmart. Refrain from chewing on that side and avoid crunchy (chips, granola, cereal), sticky foods (gum, candy, peanut butter, soft breads) until you see your dentist. Please call your dentist’s office to get a same day appointment.

I had a procedure done within the 5 days and I am having new or worsening pain and or new or worsening swelling?

If you are experiencing new or worsening pain and or swelling after having a procedure within the last 5 days, and over the counter pain medications are not helping.
